SALEWA stops plastic packaging

SALEWA will be shipping its products ecologically and sustainably using our ColomPac® “Grass Box” from July 2019 and will completely eliminate the use of plastic or conventional cardboard shipping packaging used up to now.

A sophisticated packaging concept:

The outer layer of the new shipping packaging is made up of 40 % grass obtained from regional sources. The Grass Box is produced using 99% less water than conventional corrugated board. This means that CO₂ emissions can be cut by half. The inside of the box is made of FSC-certified cardboard with a high recycling content. All of the packaging is of course 100% recyclable and is produced in a climate neutral manner.
