25 years packit + 1 year w~well

Twenty-five years ago, a visionary packaging start-up from Upper Austria met a traditional family business with over 150 years of history – and they hit it off immediately. This laid the foundation for the ‘Strong Group,’ which gained another strong member last year with the founding of w~well. On 26 June, the time had come: the now established company packit! celebrated its 25th anniversary, while w~well looked back on a successful first year. Together, they hosted a big anniversary party – and numerous guests accepted the invitation to celebrate this special milestone in the history of the ‘Strong Group’ in style.

High-profile speakers such as Governor Thomas Stelzer and Barbara Steffner, representative of the European Union, addressed the audience with inspiring words. A particular highlight was the keynote speech by Univ.-Prof. DDDr. Sedmak on the topic of ‘A safe packaging world’, which stimulated reflection and opened new perspectives. An interview with managing directors DI Walter Freimüller and Karl Ömmer, as well as shareholder Paul Schäfer, rounded off the official part of the evening.

The venue for the event was the w~well production facility – a next-generation corrugated cardboard factory. Since it went into operation in 2024, w~well has demonstrated a clear focus on the future and sustainability: Automated intralogistics processes, digital production planning and the latest machine technology ensure efficient processes and responsible use of resources.

The celebration was rounded off with exclusive factory tours that provided exciting insights into the state-of-the-art production facility – a celebration of innovation and relationships.
